Miss Banana and Her Amazing Talking Hands

If you haven't ever heard of SigningTime! you have been missing out.  It is heaven-sent.  We first started SigningTime! when T-Man was a baby.  It was so helpful to have him be able to communicate his needs and wants before he was able to talk.  We did the same thing with Fearless.  I was already a believer in signing with kids, but then when Miss B came along, it became more important.  I'm not sure exactly why, but I just felt even more strongly that it was really important for us to enhance her communication skills with ASL.

Miss Banana usually is not a big fan of watching movies, but when she hears the opening giggle and the announcement of "It's signing time!" she comes crawling in as fast as her little arms and legs will let her.  I'm pretty sure that she thinks Rachel, Alex, and Leah are her BFFs.

It's about to start, Mommy!!

Sorry, can't look at the camera anymore--my show is on!
Signing "Signing" along with Rachel during the theme song

Signing "Eat"

Signing "Train"

Signing "Hurt"

Not sure what this one was...but she obviously thought it was something because her fingers were going like wild!

Signing "Dad"

Totally engrossed in SigningTime!

Miss Banana is getting so big! And she is adorable with her video. Em is slightly obsessed with signing time too. All i have to do is mention it and she runs to the TV like a puppy. it's the only way she will learn signs.

Oh, she is so PRECIOUS!!!! We never got into Signing Time. We'd bought one dvd about 4 years ago, and it just happened to be the only one that doesn't have music and songs. Sammi didn't like it at all, and I assumed they were all like that and couldn't imagine why people were going so crazy over these videos! LOL

I do home health nursing with a 8 yr old with DS. In addition to many medical issues, she is deaf. I think she would love Signing Time, but I can't find a copy. The library doesn't have it. Do you know where to find an inexpensive copy?

Okay I must say I have not been on here for a while. She is the cutest little girl. Look at her go and sign. We used Signing Time as well. I am just starting to do groups in my city. Wysdom loves it to.

this is so awesome...signing is the best - we still use "more", mostly in jest as it is 17 years later!

How cool! Makes me wish I had spent a little more time with signing when Maggie was younger. She's too stubborn to pay attention to me now.

Miss B is such a beautiful girl!

She is so cute Carrie! I just checked out my first Signing Time DVD from the library and so hopefully I can get Carson to start doing more. :)

Thanks for coming visiting! Miss Banana is a rockstar! We're groupies here too. I have to spell it now. If I mention the title or Rachel's name the Quail starts bouncing up and down and pointing to the direction of the TV desperate to watch! Too funny- glad to know we aren't the only ones!
