I haven't scheduled Miss Banana's nine-month check-up yet (bad mom, I know!) so T-Man and Fearless decided to take matters into their own hands this morning. They broke out their doctor's kit, and decided to give Miss B a very thorough check-up themselves.
Poor Miss Banana, she needed five shots (two in the upper thigh, one in the chest, and two in the arm) and the "doctors" had great bedside manner about the whole thing though, they kept telling her that it was for her own good and that it would only hurt for a little bit. Then they gave her band-aids and kisses to make it feel better.
At some point, they did decide that she "had swallowed a bug and needs to have surgery to get it out." They even used their beeper and cell phone to call the ER to let them know they would be coming in immediately. They performed a minor surgery on her knee to fix the problem. Afterwards, Dr. T-Man listened to her heart and proclaimed that she was "in remission."
After several checks of her eyes, it was determined that she needed glasses, then she would be good to go.
As the check-up ended, I was given strict instructions to bring Miss Banana back to them in the morning to make sure the "prescription" worked.
I think that was the best 9-month check-up EVER! I mean really, how is Dr. SouthernKids with her official medical training going to do better than that???

That is awesome. When can I schedule them? I love that they make housecalls. I can't believe how long Miss. Banana's hair has gotten. I hope Lily's hair grows rather than falls out.
That made my day! I love that she needed glasses and you guys picked out the cutest ones for her. They were perfect! :) Your kids are so darn cute!!
Love all the pictures and the boys are too cute! Seriously, you can save the deductible and jsut have them treat the whole family! ;)
Oh my gosh Carrie these are so adorable. I love the little story that goes w/ the pictures. I can just see your boys saying/doing these things. Way too cute. Miss B is going to be 1 this year, can you believe it? Crazy, I love her hair too.
heehee- those doctors are welcome in our house anyday!
Cuban dinner night in our house is that I have a co-worker whose family is originally from Cuba and her mom cooks a meal once a week that we can all buy a serving of for $6! Lucky us- it's always so tasty!
As for cattoys doubling as OT aides- it's the jingle balls cats chase around. Last week we started moving from feeding therapy to fine motor and the first task was to gather up all the little balls in the house. that are the right size for her tiny hands to grasp and play with-grabbing them in and out of a bowl and banging them together. The nice thing about the cat balls is the jingle noise gets her attention. She also suggested golf balls because of the extra weight with the size.
