The journey of 26.2 miles, begins with a single step

So today is the day. I decided that I didn't have enough things to every day already (HA!), so today, I am officially beginning my marathon training program. Dr. Corn ran in the St. George, UT marathon last fall; so this year, it's my turn to run a marathon. While 26.2 miles may seem daunting, I say, BRING IT ON!!!

Thought for the day: "Focus. Speed. I AM Speed." --Lightning McQueen (CARS).

Carrie, that is awesome! I was totally planning to do St. George this year too. Val really wanted Robyn and I to do it. Robyn has backed out and I am so not wanting to, but think next year might be a better year for me. I had read up on nursing and training and just don't know if I can do both and feel good about both efforts...plus Cooper isn't supposed to be in a jogging stroller until he is 8 months...I feel like I have a line of excuses, but really, I just want to make sure the timing is right. I am proud of you!! I will be excited to hear how things go for you and look forward to the time when I will start training. Are you training with the boys or when Darrin is home (is he home much?!!)? We are looking to sell my single jogger and get a double so I can start running with both boys as soon as Cooper is old enough. Let me know how you are planning to do things with a busy life and two busy boys! :)

Hey! It is so much fun to read your cute thoughts and stories. We started our blog just a few months ago - I think it is a great way to stay in touch. Good luck with the marathon - that is awesome!

Welcome to the world of blogging. It seems like forever since we've seen anyone. Kids sure grow up fast. I see Tate still has that same great smile. Good luck with the marathon. I love the "cars" quote.

Yikes. . . are you ready for us all to spy on you now!?!? There's some nights I can go to a blog & bounce around from blog to blog for an hour or so after all the kids are in bed! So, it'll be fun seeing more pictures of your family. Good luck w/ your training. . . I'm jealous! I've been down & out w/ bad shin splints for the past couple months--pain in the you know where!

See ya-
Emily

Are you going to do the St. George one too? We will have to get together for lunch or SOMETHING when you are here! Good for you, I'm envious but not enough to get my butt off the couch ;-)
